Hi, I’m Ethan.
I build dashboards, bots and small apps that make data easier to use.
Most of my projects started as a spreadsheet, a chore, or a question I couldn’t find an answer to. I like digging into the data until I understand it, then building something that makes it easy for other people to use. Everything below has a demo you can try.

Language Study Bot
A bot for my Japanese study group. It tracks everyone’s progress, posts a daily recap, and uses an LLM to write reminders at each person’s level.

Listening Stats
YouTube Music doesn’t give you listening stats, so I built my own. It keeps a full play history that updates itself, plus a dashboard of what I listen to.

Flight Price Monitor
Keeps an eye on the trips I want to take, for both points and cash fares, and only alerts me when a price is worth acting on. It was more useful before Google Flights added award fares 😅

About me
I started programming in 2018, completed a full-stack coding program through the University of Utah in 2023, and have kept building projects since. I finished my Associate of Science at Utah Valley University in 2025, and I’m still taking data analytics courses.
The part I enjoy most is the planning before any code gets written. I like talking with the people who’ll use a tool, figuring out what they need from it, and writing that down clearly. My projects tend to end up with a lot of documentation and a lot of tests, because I want to be able to trust the numbers.
Outside of that, I’m learning Japanese (which explains a couple of these projects), I listen to a lot of music, and I’m usually planning a trip somewhere.
